12-16-11 Today is a half day and students will be dismissed at 11:30. Teachers will be dismissed at 3:15. Have a great Holiday season.

12-12-11 Food drive is over. We are collecting Macaroni and Cheese boxes. Thank you for your help.

No School 11-23,11-24,11-25. Enjoy Thanksgiving with your families.

Open House is 10-11-11 from 5:30 – 7:00. You can also bid on St.Jude Art Auction being held tomorrow in the Auditorium.

09-20-11 Remember that the money for the Coupon Book is due or have your student return the book by Thursday.

 

The PTA sponsored a kick ball tournament as a fund raiser. Please have students bring in some money to support our PTA. I donated …..did you?

09-13-11 Fundraiser money due by the 9-23.

 

09-13-11 Pictures sent home. Picture money is due 9-23.

09-02-11 Students should be raising donations for the kick ball tournament which will be held this 09-02-11. Money turn in will not be until the 09-23-11. Thank you for your help and for supporting out PTA.

08-25-11 Clash of the Dragons t-shirts are on sale in the cafeteria for 7 dollars.

 

08-22-11 Students were given a coupon book for the PTA fundraiser. Please have students either return the book or $20.

08-18-2011 Curriculum night starts at 5:30 for algebra parents and everyone else at 6:00 p.m.

08-15-11 Curriculum Night schedules handed out to students. Please bring the schedule with you so you know where to go on Thursday night.

Graded  Assignments Due Today

01-17-12 Test review. Students will be given a chance to work on chapter 9 assignments.

01-16-12 NO SCHOOL

 

01-13-1s Chapter 9 section 1 & 2 quiz. Students were given time to work on their SSCN and vocabulary. Students were also given two maps to be completed by 01-18-11.

01-12-11 Chapter 9 section 2 notes. I handed out pictures for students to use in their SSCN in class today.

01-11-12 Chapter vocabulary activity in class. Section 1 and 2 questions handed out in class. These questions will be die on Wednesday.

01-10-12 Chapter 9 section 1 notes.

 

01-09-12 Students were given back their foldables today in class.If they wish to earn extra points they need to be completed by tomorrow and turned back in for extra points. This is a one day offer.

Students were introduced to Chapter 9 today with a vocabulary exercise.

 

01-05-12 TN State History foldable project due by the end of class. No exceptions.

01-03-12 Students are creating a foldable in class for a test grade. This project cannot leave the classroom. They have until the end of class on Friday to complete the  assignment. I have handed out direction sheets in class and have provided the instruction so they students have been shown what my expectations of their work will be. The subject matter of the foldable is TN State History.

Study Island

 

We will be taking the Study Island pre-test  on 09-20-11. This can be completed at home and needs to be finished by 10-22-11.

Assignment One is due October 30,2011. This was assigned to students on 09-20-11. 10 questions per topic.

If you have not completed assignment 1, you can still get credit if you complete your assignment.

Assignment Two is due December 12th.

Notes

A copy of the notes will be kept in class in case you were absent.

Grading

The following are the categories for grading in social studies.

50% Test/ Projects

40% Quiz

10% Homework/ Classwork

* Students have been asked to keep all graded work. If an error has been made on a grade, I will need to see the graded paper in order to change the grade. If the paper in question cannot be produced, I will not change the grade.

If you are absent.

If you are absent, check this blog for the work missed during the your absence. You must make prior arrangements if you plan to make up work in the morning. I am in my classroom by 7:15 a.m. most mornings. If you cannot show up early, you can make up your work on Tuesday afternoons. You must have a note to stay.

Any worksheets handed out in class will be in a box in the front of the classroom.

Notes are located in the yellow folder in front of “THE BIG WALL OF LEARNING”. These notes are to stay in the classroom.
